L. Luthier brand ambassador: Sheikh Hady Basmeih a.k.a. Hady Afro

Sheikh Hady Basmeih was born on November 17, 1986 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia into a musical family. His father, Mansur, who is also is musician popular with boogie woogie style of piano playing has been his source of Inspiration ever seens he was young. Now,he as classical guitar lecturer in National Academy of Art Culture and Heritage (ASWARA University Kuala Lumpur).

Hady took his first musical steps at the age of 8th, by learning the piano from his father; it wasn’t until he was 17 that Hady’s father tought him to play classical guitar, theory and how to read music. It was at that time that Hady discovered the classical music, thus beginning a love affair with classical guitar. Over the next few years he honed his skills as a guitarist (playing classical and electric guitar) developing a unique style that was an amalgamation of his ever expanding musical tastes.

In 2004, he furthered his studies and has obtained a diploma in mid-year 2008 and recently graduated with a Bachelors Degree majoring in Classical Guitar and Music Arrangement in mid-year 2012 at National
Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage(ASWARA) which is a form of higher learning institution which provides learning, research and academic publishing as well as professional consultant service in art culture and heritage which aimd to produce skilled artiste and integrity author in their area beside strengthening the national arts heritage. In principles ASWARA focusses on the dicipline of music, arts and culture.

Hady is also known as ‘Hady Afro’ was interviewed by MIRROR Magazine as a role model for Malaysia Youth on Unity association for 201 1 and Sheikh Hady Basmeih also had an interviewed by ‘Buletin Beringin’ Magazine about winning the 1st runner up for 1st Malaysia Inter-national Guitar Festival and Competition 2007.

Wanting further inspiration, his inpiration comes from the great masters such as Andres Segovia, John Williams, Julian Bream, and Luis Salinas.
